M’ama non m’ama

A playful romantic gesture transformed into a collection of hand-knotted rugs by Patricia Urquiola. M’AMA NON M’AMA refers to the game “loves me, loves me not?”, the simple act of removing petals from a flower, a game which knows no language and where everyone has the same universal question, does he or she love me? Inspired by nature, and with this age-old question in mind, Patricia Urquiola abstracts the organic shapes of flowers into soft and inviting rugs. With M’AMA NON M’AMA, the Spanish designer explores linen, abstracting the tactile material into soft organic shapes, to be touched, felt, and interacted with like the game the collection is named after. Does she or he love you?  In this case, we can say with certainty, the feeling is mutual.
