Patricia Urquiola designed the Dewey Bookshelf for Kartell, composed of different materials according to the function. The structure is punctured by wooden shelves that segment the product horizontally, drawing attention to the jewellery boxes made from distinctive curved and inflated rods. The aim was to use the massing to create an optical illusion and the impression of glass that would contrast with the solidity of the shelves. The shelves were designed to communicate coziness in every room of the house.
