Chamotte – which takes its name from the raw material made of crushed ceramic fragments, embedded in raw
clay to strengthen ceramic mixtures – is a project dedicated to pure colour, that uses traditional artisan technique to create a range of surfaces with a tactile texture, both to the eye and to the touch. The collection is realised according to the industrial double-firing method which combines the extrusion and pressing processes, allowing to obtain a surface of artisanal aesthetic, suitable for indoor use. Chamotte presents a textured base with a tactile feeling, that enhances the natural beauty of ceramics. The grooves are obtained by processing the surface which is then coated with a selection of coloured glazes typical of artistic ceramic, defining the palette. The double-firing technique allowed to further accentuate the richness of the glazed elements, providing exceptional brightness.
