Alder collection

The Alder collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola for Mater, features coffee tables, side tables, and occasional seats with soft, curvilinear forms inspired by nature. The pieces combine a base made from two distinct elements through press molding with a top that showcases simplicity and softened edges. The collection is made from a new biodegradable blend of Matek®, a patented material and technology by Mater that turns waste into a mouldable raw material. Matek® is created by combining fibres with a binder to produce a compound that can be formed using pre-existing press moulding technology to create furniture.
