Qatar Airport, Coffee Bar and Museum Shop

The QMA shop and W Café, at Hamad International Airport in Doha, are located in front of each other. The project was designed to link two distinctive areas – with different functions expressed through shades of the same material palette range and chromatic scale. Both feature a unifying, hexagonal pattern, alternating dubbed and perforated copper flooring, customized wood furniture and marble. It echoes the ceiling’s structure, whose design conveys a 3D effect. The shop blends materials, such as copper, varnished metal, grey oak, back-painted glass and Rosa Portogallo marble. The café, with the same materials, becomes an intimate space: four specific areas are delimited by irregular grid walls in copper-varnished metal.
